She can act, dance and sing, talk about a triple treat! Beyonce started her singing career by performing with various dance and music groups, till the breakthrough came in late 1990’s when she became the lead singer of a popular R&B group Destiny’s Child. R&B and pop are the two main genres she has mainly performed in, but besides that, Beyonce also made her film debut in ‘Goldmember’ back in 2002 which marked the start of her acting career.

A year later Beyonce launched an album which went on to become the greatest solo hit of her career, earning her five Grammy awards and two of the songs making it into the Billboard Hot 100 number one singles.

This was just the beginning of a great music career ahead. Here are the top ten singles and solo performances of Beyonce which proves why she has managed to retain the title of most successful solo performing artist, time and again.

2003 – Crazy in Love

The song which managed to top both the R&B and Pop charts, Crazy in Love also features Beyonce’s would be husband Shawn Carter (Jay-Z). This song earned her two Grammy awards and managed to stay on the top of the charts list for eight consecutive weeks.

2004 – Naughty girl

The use of Arabic tunes which stirs up a naughty mix of intimate innuendos, Naughty Girl surely does full justice to its name. With four MTV music awards to the single, the number three pop hit was no doubt a crowd favorite.

2005 – Check on it

Intended to be the soundtrack for the first Pink Panther movie which also featured Beyonce acting with Steve Martin, the song did not make the movie cut. However, it was included as a single in her upcoming album of all number compilations of the Destiny’s Child group.

2006 – Irreplaceable

Considered by many as women empowerment single, Irreplaceable made it to the top of the number one singles chart without any difficulty and maintained that position for more than two months straight.

2008 – Single Ladies

“If you like it then you should put a ring on it!” this line managed to capture and mesmerize millions of fans of Beyonce. This song was also released as a public statement confirming Beyonce’s secret marriage to rapper Jay-Z before the hit single was recorded. The song earned three Grammy awards.

2009 – Sweet Dreams

An electro-pop number by Beyonce which topped the dance charts back then.

2009 – Halo

A powerful hit and romantic song which also earned a lot of notoriety regarding similarity to another hit single by Kelly Clarkson.

2011 – Run the World

A soundtrack which was recorded with a marching band tune, but managed to make it to the top of the charts list with its catchy tune and peppy lyrics.

2013 – Drunk in Love

Another popular single featuring Beyonce and her husband which clinched the number two spot on the Billboard hot 100.

2016 – Formation

This was the popular song from the album Lemonade, which Beyonce performed at the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show.
