3 delectable dessert ideas for a house party

Whether it is a baby shower, family brunches, bridal shower, potluck dinners, housewarming party, birthday party, or a just about any party, what food you put on the table will determine whether your part is a success or not. Unless it is a sit-down dinner that you are hosting, your menu should ideally comprise of good finger foods. Small bite size pieces let your guests mingle around and enjoy the party, rather than awkwardly holding a plateful of a full meal and looking for some space around a crowded room. This includes desserts as well. Try to include little parfaits, mini cupcakes, small tarts, and so on that guests can easily carry around in their hands and pop in their mouth instead of carrying a plate with a slice cake dripping with icing and a fork in hand. Miniature desserts are fun and give an appealing look to your food table as well. Here are a few easy and quick miniature dessert ideas for a party.

Cheesecake with Nutella Shooters:

These look delicious and are quite easy to make as well. This dessert comprises of layers of chocolate, hazelnut, and cheesecake. These elegant-looking shooters are perfect for baby showers and bridal showers. The recipe requires half cup plain yogurt, 8 ounces of cream cheese (regular or light) at room temperature, half cup and one tablespoon powdered sugar, one teaspoon and quarter teaspoon vanilla extract (divided), one cup heavy cream (divided), one cup of crushed graham crackers, or macarons, almond or hazelnut meal, also about one and one-half cups of chocolate hazelnut spread.

Mini Fruit Pizzas:

This is one of the best dessert ideas for a party for summer as well as winter. You can use seasonal fruits and make this a vibrant dessert. For this dessert, you can bake sugar cookies a home or buy some nice ones from the store. The cookies should be flat and small so that your guests can easily hold them with their fingers. You can make the cheesecake spread using one pack of cheese cream (softened), half cup powdered sugar, one cup heavy cream, and half teaspoon vanilla. Beat all these ingredients to a soft consistency and spread it over the sugar cookies. Chop fresh fruits such as raspberries, kiwi, blueberries, and mango. Top the cookies with these.

Tiny Caramel Apples:

This is one of the simplest dessert ideas for the party. You just need five medium-sized apples and caramel (homemade or store-bought). For toppings, you can use crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, colored sprinkles, chopped nuts, or chocolate candies. Scoop out about one-inch balls from the apples. Put a toothpick in each ball and place the apple balls on the baking sheet. Then, dip the apple balls one at a time in warm caramel, remove the excess caramel, and dip the caramel-coated apple balls in the toppings of your choice. Make sure that you work quickly so that the caramel does not harden, and the toppings stick to the caramel layer. The caramel should cool down completely before serving.
