Types and styles of women’s suits

Women’s fashion is an incredibly vast phenomenon when it comes to fashion. Men’s fashion does not account for even half of the variety and dimensions that women’s fashion has. As a woman, you have to dress differently for every occasion, and you cannot wear the same outfit to different places. One section of women’s clothing is women’s suit, there is a type of suit for every occasion. You would wear different suits to a party and a corporate meeting. Let us look at some types of women’s suits that you can choose from:

Skirt suit

A skirt suit, is like a tiny twist to the normal suit that you would opt for. In this case, you would be pairing a jacket and a skirt with a shirt. It is similar to the regular suit but just adds a little convention with the existence of a skirt. You can also broaden your wardrobe with a women’s suit skirt.

Trouser suit

This is the classic and original form of suits for both men and women. It was designed after the man’s suit, and then a few length alterations were made to customize the fit better for women. A well-tailored suit can be worn for any occasion, be it a wedding or a corporate meeting. You can opt for wool women’s suits for formal meetings, but a lighter fabric would go better for a slightly less formal occasion.

Three-piece suits

A three-piece women’s suit is quite different as compared to the men’s formal three-piece suit. This one consists of trousers, jacket and a skirt. It is for women who love to have variety in their wardrobe. You can switch between a trouser and a skirt with the same jacket, just to add a tinge of variety. This type of suits are cheaper as compared to buying a separate set of skirt suit and trouser suit.

Now, let’s look at a couple of suit styles for women:

Evening suits

Most women suits are made for corporate meetings, but there are some that are also designed with other purposes in mind. Some of them are for weddings, dinners or a theatre night. The look is slightly different as they require a more elegant and sophisticated look for the informal occasions. You can choose a suit style that is made from silk, satin or taffeta and includes detailing like beading, large lapels or ruffles.

Business-casual suits

Wearing a suit is considered to be formal over other everyday formal wear, but some suits are casual than the others. Your best bet is to buy suits in lighter fabric and mix & match the skirts, trousers, and jackets if you have to stick to an office dress code. Cotton and linen qualify as the best lightweight fabrics than you can adopt. You can try wearing a blue linen skirt, paired with a silk blouse and a jacket that complements your skirt.
