Easy Party Makeup Looks for the Holidays

Easy Party Makeup Looks for the Holidays

The holiday season is quickly approaching and with it comes delicious food and family get togethers. Also on the docket: Holiday parties. A holiday party provides the perfect excuse to experiment with your usual makeup look. Most of the time, the sparkly and bold palettes aren’t appropriate for everyday wear, but a party is a great opportunity to flex your smokey eye skills. You can go ahead and RSVP yes because we found the best easy holiday makeup looks for you to try this year.

Whether you’re testing the waters with a glittery eyeshadow or committed to a bright and bold lip, there’s a festive Christmas party makeup look that’s perfect for you:

1. Smokey neutrals with dewy lips

Smokey eyes are always a classic evening makeup look, but when you switch up the colors it can have incredible effects. We love a neutral smokey eye that is created using a soft monotone palette for understated glamor. To pull the rest of the look together, add a nude-colored lip gloss for a high-shine look. Modern lipgloss formulas come with nourishing ingredients that make them feel lightweight instead of sticky.

2. Bold lips and bold brows

Nothing screams a fun holiday party makeup look than a bold and dramatic lip color. The color can be something fun, like cranberry, fuchsia, or purple, and the brighter the better. To make your lip color the focus of the party, we suggest playing up your eyebrows. Just shape them with a brow pencil and then brush the eyebrow hairs upward for an editorial look.

3. Cat eye with liquid liner and matte red lips

A holiday party just wouldn’t be a holiday party if no one is sporting matte red lips. They just scream festivity! A cat eye paired with matte red lips is a timeless look, but this year we recommend trying a bold metallic liquid eyeliner for an even more adventurous look.

4. Glitter eyeshadow with a translucent base

Any opportunity to wear glitter this holiday party season should be taken advantage of. I mean, when else is it appropriate to dress your face like you’re your own Christmas tree ornament? Right now, we love a nude glitter look with a translucent base to let the flecks of sparkle really shine, but don’t overdo it or you could end up looking like a walking disco ball.

5. Red, red, and more red

Are you ready to be daring with your makeup? A hot holiday look that’s going to be big this year is an all red monochromatic look that adds a pop of color to a little black dress. It’s a simple look that makes a huge statement, especially when the colors are of similar shades. We recommend a reddish blush that’s swept from cheekbone to brow bone to simplify the process. Complete the look with crimson lips to match.
