7 quick tips if you are travelling on low budget

Travel was considered as a luxury a while back. You can now travel the world without breaking the bank. The trick for a travel budget is to make the most of your vacation savings. Not all exotic locations have cheap flight tickets and affordable stay. If you are a travel enthusiast planning to travel on a budget on vacation to discover new locations, here are some easy tips and tricks that will make your trip worthwhile.

If the flight prices are too high

Back in 2008, airlines reduced the passenger capacity, which led to an increase in the fare. In this case, check the flight fares regularly. The best way to go about it is to compare prices of different travel websites. Subscribing to such websites will keep updated via e-mail in case there is a cheap flight available for your destination. Some of the websites include Travelocity.com, yapta.com, farecompare.com.

Non-U.S flights

If you are on a budget travel in Europe, you can save money by flying in regional discount airlines. This has been possible due to changes in open skies agreement between our country and Europe. Airlines like easyJet, Jet4you, and Myair cost you as low as 30 Euros. This is as low as $35.

Roadtrip

If you are traveling interstate, you can skip flights anytime and go for a road trip. There are some websites on the internet that offer some interesting road-trip ideas. Nps.gov provides information on traveling distance. Websites like tripadvisor.com provide the information to you with a tool called as “tank of gas” which helps you calculate the amount of gas you need for your trip. A perfect tool if you are traveling on a budget.

Selecting hotel rooms

If you are traveling with a family or in a large group, renting a house or a condo can be a lot cheaper than paying for individual rooms in a hotel. For instance, if you are in San Francisco, a 2-bedroom apartment (with four occupants) would cost you roughly 250 dollars, whereas most of the hotels would cost 150 to 250 dollars for a single night. If you cannot find such apartments, then look for small hotels or chain of hotels that cater to business travelers. If you are on a business trip, you might also get a corporate discount.

For peak time travelers

If you are planning to travel on a budget on vacation, pick an off-season location. For instance, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and South America are some of the pleasant places to visit and are also less crowded.

Fixed-cost trips

There is a huge variety of all-inclusive programs that club meals, outdoor activities and accommodation prices which makes the trip affordable and under your budget. Websites like beaches.com, riu.com, starfishresorts.com, Travelocity.com, kayak.com, applevacations.com offer some “light on the pocket deals.”

Like resorts, there are cruise vacations which are also a good option if you are traveling on a budget. Be aware of shore and drink exclusions as they might increase the overall budget of your itinerary.
